Yalla Pray!

Open the app and go to the Settings tab. Enter your date of birth and set your Praying Age — these are used to calculate your full prayer history for qazaa tracking. Everything else works automatically.

This is the age at which you began regularly praying. Yalla Pray! uses this, combined with your date of birth, to determine your prayer start date — the earliest date from which your prayer history is tracked. You can set this between age 7 and 15, with a default of 10.

No account needed. Yalla Pray! works entirely on your device. If you have iCloud enabled, your data syncs automatically across your Apple devices through your existing Apple ID — no separate login required.

Tap any prayer on the Prayers tab to cycle through its states:

• ✓ Completed — you prayed it
• ○ Incomplete — not yet logged
• ✕ Skipped — intentionally missed (optional, enable in Settings)

Navigate to any past or future date using the arrow buttons to log prayers for other days.

The ring in the header of the Prayers tab shows how many of today's 5 prayers you've completed — for example, "2 of 5". It updates instantly as you mark prayers.

Tap the Mark Past Prayers button. For today's date, it marks all prayers whose time has already passed as complete. For past dates, it marks all 5 prayers as complete.

Simply shake your device to undo the last prayer state change. This restores the previous state instantly.

Found in Settings → Display, this toggle controls how skipped prayers appear in your Prayer History stats. When enabled, skipped prayers are shown as a separate red segment in the month circles. When off, skipped prayers are grouped with incomplete prayers.

Found in Settings → Prayer Tracking, this toggle shows or hides the ability to mark prayers as skipped on the Prayers tab. It's off by default — when off, prayers can only be marked as completed or incomplete. Enable it if you want to track prayers you intentionally skipped.

Yes — go to Settings → Prayer Tracking → Tap Checkbox to Mark. When enabled, only tapping the checkbox on the right marks the prayer; tapping the rest of the row does nothing. This is useful on smaller devices where accidental taps can occur. The default is automatically set based on your device size.

If you leave the app for more than 1 minute and come back, it automatically navigates to today. This prevents accidentally logging prayers on the wrong date. You can still manually navigate to any past date using the arrow buttons.

When you mark the 5th prayer on today's date, a confetti burst animation plays from the progress ring — a small celebration for completing all your prayers! 🎉

When enabled in Settings → Prayer Tracking, marking a prayer complete on today's date will show a prompt asking how many missed prayers of the same name you also prayed. Use the stepper to enter the number and tap Confirm — those qazaa prayers are marked automatically. A 5-second undo option appears after confirming.

This only triggers on today's date and only when marking complete — not via the Mark All Complete button.

Found in Settings → Prayer Tracking, Qazaa Direction controls two things:

• Which missed prayers the One-for-One Qazaa Prompt marks first — oldest or most recent
• The label and behaviour of the missed prayer navigation button — Last Missed (most recent first, default) or First Missed (oldest first)

When you navigate to a past date, a purple "Qazaa Mode" pill appears in the header where the location is normally shown. It's a clear reminder that you're viewing a past date and logging qazaa prayers — not today's prayers.

Qazaa refers to prayers that were missed and need to be made up. Yalla Pray! tracks your entire prayer history from your prayer start date, making it easy to go back and log missed prayers.

Use the "Last Missed" button to instantly jump to the earliest date that has incomplete prayers — so you can work through your qazaa systematically.

Your prayer start date is calculated as: Date of Birth + Praying Age. For example, if you were born on January 1, 1995 and your Praying Age is set to 10, your prayer start date is January 1, 2005. Prayers before this date are not tracked.

Yes — you can navigate to any date from your prayer start date onwards. Use the left arrow on the Prayers tab to go back as far as needed.

Prayer times are calculated on-device using the Adhan library with the Muslim World League method, based on your current location detected via your device's GPS. No internet connection is required for the calculation itself.

Prayer times require location access. To fix this:

• Go to iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services
• Find Yalla Pray! and set it to While Using the App
• Return to the app and open the Prayers tab

Yes — go to Settings → Display → Time Format to toggle between 12h and 24h formats.

Yalla Pray! uses the Muslim World League calculation method, which is widely accepted globally. Minor variations can occur depending on local conventions. Keep in mind that prayer times in Yalla Pray! are provided as a reference only — the app is primarily a prayer tracker. For precise local times, cross-reference with your local mosque or a dedicated prayer times app.

The Yalla! button at the top of the Prayer History tab opens the Yalla! Bulk Update sheet — a powerful tool to update many prayers at once using preset actions. It's useful for catching up on qazaa or correcting large date ranges quickly.

There are 6 presets available:

• Mark Month Complete — mark all missed prayers in a chosen month as completed
• Mark First N Missed Prayers — mark the first N missed occurrences of a specific prayer as completed
• Mark Last N Missed Prayers — mark the last N missed occurrences of a specific prayer as completed
• Mark Date Range — mark all missed prayers within a date range as completed
• Unmark Date Range — reset completed or skipped prayers to incomplete within a date range
• Unskip Date Range — reset skipped prayers to incomplete within a date range

All presets show a Preview section before applying, telling you exactly how many prayers and days will be affected, and the date range — so there are no surprises before you tap Apply.

Each month, the total possible prayers = number of days you should have prayed × 5. Partial months (like your first month of praying, or the current month) are handled correctly — only days from your prayer start date up to today are counted.

For today specifically, only prayers whose time has already passed are counted in the denominator — future prayers are excluded so your percentage stays accurate throughout the day. If location is unavailable, all 5 prayers are counted for today.

• Gold segment — completed prayers
• Grey segment — incomplete prayers
• Red segment — skipped prayers (shown if "Show Skipped Separately" is enabled in Settings → Display)

Yes — double-tap any month circle in the Stats tab to navigate to it in the Prayers tab. You can configure where it lands in Settings → Stats → Double-tap Month Navigates To: first day of month (default), first completed day, or last completed day.

Yes — long press any month circle to open a calendar view for that month. Each day shows a mini completion ring. Tap any day to navigate straight to it in the Prayers tab.

All your prayer data is stored locally on your device using SwiftData. If you have iCloud enabled, it also syncs to your private iCloud account via CloudKit — meaning your data is available across all your Apple devices.

Yes — if iCloud is enabled, your prayer history will sync automatically when you install Yalla Pray! on a new device and sign in with the same Apple ID. You can also restore from an iPhone backup.

To delete all local data, simply delete the app from your device. To also remove iCloud data, go to iPhone Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage and remove data for Yalla Pray!.

No. We do not collect analytics, track usage, or receive any personal information on our end. Your data stays between your device and your personal iCloud account. Read our full Privacy Policy for details.

Go to Settings → Export Data. A CSV file will be generated and a share sheet will appear — save it to Files, email it to yourself, or store it anywhere you like. The filename includes a timestamp so exports never overwrite each other.

The file has one row per day with columns: PROFILE, DATE, FAJR, DHUHR, ASR, MAGHRIB, ISHA. Values are Y (completed), S (skipped), or blank (not marked). Rows are ordered by date, oldest first.

Go to Settings → Import Data and select a previously exported CSV file. You'll see a preview showing the date range and number of prayers to be imported, then choose:

• Merge — overlays imported data on existing data. Only dates in the CSV are updated; all other data is untouched.
• Replace — clears all existing prayer data first, then imports the CSV fresh.

No — imports cannot be undone. We recommend exporting your current data first as a backup before importing anything new.

Yes. Since imported data is written through the same SwiftData layer, it syncs to iCloud automatically — just like manually marking prayers. It may take a minute or two for a large import to fully sync across devices.

Tap the ⓘ icon in the header of the Prayers or Stats tab to open a scrollable list of tips for that tab. Each tip shows a title and a one-line description of a feature or gesture. You can scroll through at your own pace and dismiss when done.

To hide the ⓘ icon once you're familiar with the app, go to Settings → Display → Show Tips and turn it off.
